In the box where he unloaded his other toys to give to Bonnie, he shows that he is sorry for not wanting to give up Woody as Andy does with his other childhood toys. But Andy softens and gives up his beloved childhood toy and companion, which makes Bonnie happy. However, in TS4, which won’t happen long after TS3, he couldn’t care less about Woody. There is no explanation for it. In the opening sequence of Toy Story 4, we learn what happened to Bo Peep, who realized that the kids were going to outgrow their toys, so he finally decides to live outdoors (this theme is abandoning the toy, other TS movies). Let’s cut to the present and see that Bonnie is no longer playing with Woody. In fact, he puts her in the closet with “old” toys and even degrades her by taking her badge and putting it on Jessie. These cabinet toys are all voiced by actors in their 80s or older, so there’s some kind of theme there; Maybe something to do with age. I’m not entirely sure what age has to do with Woody; No bigger than the other toys in ‘Roundup Gang’. Why? That beats me? It was not disclosed in the movie (I noticed). So what does it give? All I can say is it’s there to direct a very weak plot. I might add that this plot is that Bonnie lost a toy she made from discarded pieces, and it was just because of Woody. And not only is he responsible for making the toy, but this “toy” sets out to find it, despite all his efforts to throw himself away. Why is the toy trying to throw itself in the trash? I guess he’s trying to get home because he perceives it’s made from garbage. Why does Woody go after him and prevent him from self-destructing? Because Woody is a knight and Bonnie is seriously miserable about it. Also, because Woody needs something. He actually says that in the movie, which to me basically underlines the weakness of the plot and its very obvious setup. But it also raises the question of what makes a toy. Since we don’t have many toys, my brother and I played with sock puppets and interlocking pieces of cloth. Do these loosely tied socks and scraps of cloth count as toys? Or should we name them? Finally, we see Bonnie making another toy like this one, it’s a female, which means she can make an army of crappy, gadget-based toys with pipe cleaners for the arms. Where does it end? Does he replace all the toys he produces, including those given to him by Andy, with Love Doll rts and crafts? How about drawing eyes and mouth on a box and calling it “Boxy”? So is this a living toy? He’s obviously already forgotten about Woody and doesn’t care if he decides to live with Bo Peep at the amusement park.
